Origin Story
Once upon a time, a pandemic descended one evening in a not-so-faraway land.
Every business and public space closed, and people began sequestering, unsure what to do, where to go, or how to live.
I questioned existence.
Amid this uncertainty, I found the power to continue creating.
If there's no world to go to - let me create a space with what I have on hand.
During the previous pandemic, the 1918 Spanish flu, New Yorkers swore by whiskey-fueled hot toddies with generous hot water at bedtime to ward off the wicked disease.
One night, Whiskey Barn Art Studio was born into existence.
Our bad boy kitty, Mr. Boots, wandered through the shop, jumping on the workbench and shattering a vase into shards of glass.
This unexpected event inspired a new way of being inventive, a testament to the power of creativity in the face of adversity.
The shards glowed in the morning sun - catching the light and refracting like crystals. It was beautiful, and I thought, let's retrieve it, give it new life, and recycle it.
Respect its shattered vision by making it a new, beautiful art form.
